As the Chief Community Engagement Officer for Silicon Valley Pride, Selena is committed to fostering an inclusive, empowering environment where community members can actively contribute to LGBTQ+ events. With a strong dedication to volunteering since high school, Selena honors the expansive value of volunteering– as a way to give back, connect with, and uplift our communities. Born and raised in the Bay Area, Selena strives to support the community by advancing visibility, representation, and the limitless potential of diverse individuals.

Driven by a passion for community enrichment, Selena is currently pursuing a Master of Social Work (MSW) at San Jose State University while working as a clinical intern with LifeMoves. She has also attended Sacramento State University, where she graduated with a degree in Psychology with high honors. Selena has served on the board for two organizations and worked as a lead presenter for NAMI. With years of experience in volunteer coordination, event management, and community engagement, she continues to foster meaningful connections and create impactful initiatives.

Outside of her professional and volunteer work, Selena enjoys a variety of hobbies and interests. She is deeply attuned to nature and frequently spends her free time hiking, trail running, stargazing, and paddleboarding in the mountains and along the coast. Selena is also passionate about creative expression, including music, dance, and poetry. As an avid traveler and lifelong learner, her recent journeys have included immersive experiences in Taiwan and Mexico.
